Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully read your question and understand your concern.

I would like to know the frequency of your migraine attacks. What is your age? What about your past medical history?

It is necessary starting a preventive therapy to reduce the frequency and the severity of migraine attacks. I recommend starting a betablocker (propranolol) or topiramate (usually starting in slow dosing, increasing gradually, to avoid adverse effects).

Meanwhile, I would also recommend avoiding triggering factors like coffee, alcohol, chocolates, sleep deprivation, etc.

You should discuss with a neurologist on the above options.

A brain MRI may be needed to exclude other possible causes, although your headaches seem to be typical migraine.

Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
