Suggest Treatment For Severe Itchy Rashes On The Legs And Groin Area

Hi, I have a horrible and extremely itchy rash on my legs and groin. I have seen doctors and keep getting told it‘ s razor burn but I am still just as itchy when I dont shave. The skin on my groin does get better if I dont shave but not my legs. Its worse with exposure to heat. On my groin it looks like spots/acne, my legs just get covered (not completely) in red dots no bigger then what you d see from a red pen. Family have suggested folliculitis, is there anything prefferably over counter that can help. Thank you

Hi,

Welcome to HCM..

Itchy Papulovesicular lesion on legs and thighs may be prurigo most probably. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

After firm diagnosis, he might suggest steroid in tappering dose, antihistaminics, antibiotics orally and local application of mild steroid and antibiotic cream. And he might advise antiseptic like dettol liq for bath. If some cause or factor is found..kindly remove it..to prevent the recurrences.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
