Suggest Treatment For Severe Headache

i am getting headaches for the past 3-4 months very severly. initially it started with pain behind forehead and then spread to my nose and cheek. Now a days i am very nauseated throughout the day with heavy appetite. i want to stay in dark room. On fourth day of my menstural cycle, i am getting dizzy spells and fatigued. I am very anxous and getting anger on others and shouting with crying spells. sometimes i am feeling that my head will drop.

Your symptoms are very much suggestive of Migraine headache . It's a kind of attack which gets triggered due to stress , lack of sleep , hunger , menstruation etc .

You need to be started on Migraine Prophylaxis medication . I usually advise my patients to start Tab Sibelium . I advise you ask your local doctor for this prescription .

Apart from medicines you need to follow these advises :

Always have a good nights sleep . Atleast 7 hours at a stretch in the night . If having problem in getting sleep consult your doctor but make sure you get that sound sleep .

Never ( I mean never ever ) starve . Especially your morning breakfast . Empty stomach is a strong trigger for migraine attack . Always keep a small snack with you if you expect you next meal to get delayed or skipped .

Try to find out some migraine triggering food like chocolates , sour items , lemon , tamarind , vinegar , wine , Sweets , etc . This varies from person to person . I have seen patients getting attack on drinking cold water , chilled beer , ice creams , apple etc . And if you can find this association avoid these food .

Try to find out some migraine triggering smell . Some examples are smell of perfume, deodorant , sandal wood or sandal oil smell , smell of incense sticks , flowers like rose , jasmine , etc .

Avoid watching late night TV shows or movies in theaters.

Beat the stress . Manage the stress at home and at your work . Difficult, try YOGA or meditation .
