Suggest Treatment For Severe Flank Pain After Stent Removal

I had stent removed from my kidney on Wednsday an start experiencing severe pain my flank and bank within an hour. I took pain medications and fell asleep when I got home. As the day continued my pain worsened and seems to be constant today with only slight relief from alternating Percocet and Ibuprofen? What else can I do to treat the pain?

Hi,

Actually, with stent removal, there is instrumentation of the urinary tract which can cause pain for 2 to 3 days.

The best-recommended analgesics are Diclofenac Sodium, Diclofenac Potassium and Naproxen Sodium, however, if you have hypertension then avoid sodium salts and take Diclofenac Potassium or Tramadol. Tramadol requires a prescription in some countries.

If the pain persists or worsens then contact your doctor as you might need ultrasound or X-ray for re-examination.
