General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The raised heart rate may be a normal response to exercises. It's not a lot concerning if he has no symptoms. Another reason for the raised pulse may be the medicine for blood pressure. if he is on amlodipine, it has a common side effect of causing high pulse. So discuss this with his doc, he may change the drug then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

HI, My doctor says my blood pressure is fine at 97 over 64 with 71 bpm, but at this range I am so tired and sleepy. I have to drink salty water and bring my pressure up to at least 110 before I feel OK. Whey does he say this is normal? I get so fatigued I can hardly function let alone drive home!
