Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Pain And Loss Of Hearing
I have ear pain in both ears. The ENT doctor diagnosed fungus in the ears and asked to use OTOCIN-O ear drops (3 times a day) and HIFENAP-P tablets (twice a day). The pain is still not reduced and I feel loss of hearing also. Please advise. sometimes the pain is unbearable.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The fungal infection in ears is taken care by the anti-fungal ear drops. The pain in ears is due to the infection itself. Hifenap-p preparation is for the pain and it will relieve the pain. The pain will disappear once the infection is treated. Fungal infection can cause conductive hearing loss. Thus, complete your course of anti-fungal ear drops. Consult your ENT specialist to assess the response to treatment. The pain should disappear once infection is cleared. You can get your hearing tested once the infection clears and it is likely to improve.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
