Suggest Treatment For Severe Dry Mouth

I have been having severe dry mouth that I can't relieve for almost a week now. The discomfort was especially in my cheeks which feel cracked and appear greyish/green. Today, after a long day at work, I realized one of my teeth are tender at the root. As I ran my tongue over the area, it seemed as though more of my tooth was exposed than usual - as though my gums had receded. In the mirror, I saw my gums did seem... gaunt.. and my inner cheeks feel very dry and are a patchy greenish/grey.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC...

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain such a sudden DRY MOUTH which is so severe in just one week can either be due to adverse reaction of certain medication if you have started any recently or can also be due to physical trauma to the salivary glands or nerve damage resulting from trauma..

The greenish or grey patches over the inner cheeks can be either due to sloughing or peeling of the mucosa or can be due to fungal infection..

You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned depending upon the cause..

As of now take Artificial Saliva drops containing methyl cellulose that has to be instilled in mouth for lubrication..
Suck on sugar free chewing gum for stimulating saliva flow..
Drink plenty of water..

Hope this information helps
