Suggest Treatment For Severe Depression And Anxiety

Hi I recently took the nexplanon implant out in May. Since then after the first 3 weeks of removal I had serve depression and panic attacks. That has now lifted but I still feel like I am in a bubble and am not also 2 months pregnant. How long for me to feel back to myself and the hormones from the nexplanon to leave my body?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Severe depression, anxiety & mood swings are the side effects of Nexplanon removal. Bloating, breast tenderness, weight gain may cause discomfort. Side effects will go away in 4 -6 weeks.

In the meantime, eat healthy food & stay away from oily greasy eatables. Do regular exercises & maintain weight an s per BMI.

Since you are suffering from anxiety disorders you need to consult a Psychiatrist or a Counselor. You may need antidepressants or SSRI's. Always take medications after physical examination & consultation with your local doctor.

In the meantime eat healthily, take adequate sleep, exercise, get more responsible, avoid addictions if any, challenge negative thoughts, have fun, listen to music, cook, have picnics & make new friends.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
