Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough While On Botox Treatment

I was just diagnosed today with VRE I had Botox treatment in bladder 4 weeks ago and had to go back to hospital twice and was catherized. I also now have picked up a deep cough. I have had sepsis twice before. The assisted living where I live thinks my famil Doctor can handle this and not an infectious disease Doctor do? And do you think the cough is related?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

A cough is not related to Botox injection. It might be due to something else and has to be evaluated.

Consult a physician and get evaluated.

As the first line of management, you can take expectorant cough syrups for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist you might require antibiotics also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
