Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. First I want to alley your fears regarding your kid -
1. 5 years age after thorough history and physical examination we can label as asthma. But tt could be either multi triggered wheeze or episodic viral wheeze.
2. If it is first time, no harm in using Levolin as it gives good relief.
3. Levoin or any of the medications used for wheezing in any route either oral or inhalational do not cause dependency or make the patient prone for asthma. Actually its the other way round.
4. But when the symptoms are recurrent - Now a days - medical literature says - steroids are the first line therapy in alleviating the symptoms fast.
5. Foracort will not cause dependency and is an internationally acclaimed way of treating asthma.
