Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough Caused By Inhalation Of Paint Fumes

I brought a nightstand I painted outside, into the house in the evening after three hours of drying outside. I slept, not realizing how strong the fumes still were. I had a mild cold previous to this and my coughing is worse even now several days later (Saturday painted, today is Friday). I didn t think of this when I when to the doctor on Wednesday. I was given a zpac(?), started Wed with 2, with 1 Thur, Fri, and Sat & Sun No fever, no sore throat, just deep coughing until exhausted and/or bring up phlegm Dr had general diagnosis of cold, sinus, possible walking pneumonia (no chest xray)
