Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Wheezing Caused Due To Pneumonia

I was diagnosed w right lower lobe pneumonia Dec 1st and was treated for a month from antibiotics to steroid packs and inhalers and nothing has helped. The wheezing and coughing just keep getting worse and the last few days I have had a fever of 102 and the fever has gone away. Saw a fast care dr yesterday and they did a chest xray and said my right lung was hazy and put me on 2 different antibiotics but the coughing and wheezing are so intense that my stomach hurts from coughing so bad and it hurts. The inhaler he gave me isn t helping like the other ones haven t . . .

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of severe cough and wheezing caused due to pneumonia which could be due to bacterial/ viral infection and due to underlying medical condition such as pneumonia. It could be due to poor immunity of body. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take combination of Ibuprofen and Tylenol as it is safe combination and you can take that for your present condition. Do warm saline gargles. You should take diet rich in fibres. Take diet rich in multivitamins, fruits and take multivitamin tablet as well to boost body immunity. Drink plenty of water to rehydrate yourself.
