Good morning. I have had a bad cold for over a week. I ve had a lot of congestion and coughing. The congestion in my head has finally started going away but the cough is persistent. I am coughing up lots of phlegm and my chest constantly hurts. How long does it usually take to get rid of a cold?

dear user........the treatment steps for you is bed rest , plenty of fluids ,tynelol , and cough sedative ,and antibiotcs if there is bacterial infection ,,,the common cold takes few days and improvemt will occur ....but if symptoms get worse you need specialist to see you...thanks
