Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough Along With Elevated ESR Levels
Hello doctor
My name is swapna,I have wet cough problem since 3wks.yesterday onwards I have started chest pain on the left side.I took 2 course of antibiotics in these period of time.2 wks prior my ESR shows a high value of around 100.last Friday again I checked it was 46,still not in the Normal value.plz doctor what it could be the reason behind my symptoms.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of continous productive cough with elevated ESR could be due to tuberculosis.
A sputum examination for acid fast bacilli is required.
You can consult your doctor for ZN staining of AFB to diagnose tuberculosis.
If tuberculosis is diagnosed, anti-tubercular treatment can be started.
