Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation

ALT is 28, AST is 27, Bilirubin is 0.3, there is slight increase in Protein in my urine, all other test came back normal. I had these test done due to severe constipation and they wanted to make sure my body functions were correctly working through blood work. They are giving me a CAT scan tomorrow to see if I have blockage or a kink in my intestines. So, my question to you is, are those test results okay so far or could they show a reason for my issue of severe constipation?

Hi there.

Thanks for being with us in HCM. I am Dr.Aliem , and I am pleased to answer your query .

The results of your blood tests are part of liver function tests . They are usually done as part of evaluation of general health. In your case, they are absolutely normal. They have nothing to do with your constipation issue .

Mild increase in urine proteins has several causes including urinary tract infections.
you may need some more tests, including urine pus cells, culture and sensitivity and blood urea and serum creatinine . If it is due to infection, you will be fine with a course of antibiotics .

constipation has many causes and needs certain tests, which may include colonoscopy. You are already under evaluation. I suggest you to go with the tests recommended by your doctor so as to find the cause at the earliest .

Hope this helps . Please post your further queries if any. I will be glad to answer . If you are satisfied with this answer , do give your feed back.
Take care .
