Suggest Treatment For Severe Constipation With Abdominal Pain And Bloating

Hi. I've had severe stomach pains on & off since November. Was diagnosed with an invasive bacteria. Was on meds for 20 days. My stomach is bloated, painful to the touch, and think I might be severely constipated now. Took 1 pill (laxative) this morning, no results. Can I take another ?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain stomach pain along with bloating can be due to causes like Gastroenteritis or stomach infection and as you were already infected there can be a relapse of the infection..
Other reasons can be Indigestion,stomach flu,irritable bowel syndrome,gas, acid reflux,crohn's disease etc..
In case if you are constipated it can be a cause of pain..
In case if you are constipated you can take stool softeners like Docusate, laxatives like Polyethylene glycol..
Take high fibre diet and drink plenty of warm water..
Avoid spicy and heavy meals..
In case if there is still no improvement you can consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and he can advise you investigations like blood tests, colonoscopy, barium swallow etc to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly..
