Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Everyday I have a very uncomfortable dull but sometimes more gripping chest pain. This has been going on for several months and to a lesser degree years. I am a Hasimotos patient diagnosed 20 plus years ago. My synthroid Rx has been raised to 112mcg from 88, to 100 in the last 3 months. There doesn t seem to be anything that helps. I have tried all the suggested minerals and even adding more Synthroid at onset of the pain which typically comes on in the afternoon. That eventually seems to help!? I have had a full heart check up with stress test and all was normal. I take and enzyme with HCL AND WONDERED IF IT WAS HEART BURN OR ANGINA. No doctor seems to be concerned! I do not know where to turn for answers. An endocrinologist? I have not been impressed with their simplistic view of this complex issue concerning the thyroid gland. Joelle
Hi, Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-: 1)Do check your TSH in every 3 months and adjust dose to keep TSH under normal range.(0.5 to 3.0 milli-international units per liter) 2)For chest discomfort and pain Do a full blood count with differential,as you have already done ECG/ECHO so no need to repeat it again. 3)Do a chest X-ray to ruled out LUNGS 4)Do an USG abdomen to rule out Gallbladder and biliary tract stone. 5)Remember that every chest pain is not angina so you do all these investigations then you can be able to find your own problem easily.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best. Thanks,
