Suggest Treatment For Severe Ankle Pain

would this help with ankle nerve pain...ankle broken off leg, nine months ago. Plates and screws in ankle. Told the pain is nerve damage from the injury. Pain, burning, hyper sensitivity to touch. Swelling increases throughout day. Despise medicines, but STILL using pain med, in order to physically move, walk, stand, etc. Recently told by surgeon nerves will heal for up to 18 months. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a pinched nerve. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three tablets a day.

I also recommend using anesthetic gels for local applications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
