Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Swelling After A Hysterectomy

i have been having severe cramping in my stomach so bad they feel like labor pains but i have had a hysterectomy. These cramps get so severe i feel like I m going to pass out. they come and go and when they come i feel the urge to have a bowel movement but that has only happened 2 times since 2 am this morning. now when i go to the bathroom when the pain comes i have a small amount of bm but it has blood in it. my lower back has also been hurting for 2 days to the point I m only able to lay on a heating bad and make it to the bathroom. my dad has colon cancer and his dad died of it and i have high blood pressure that at the moment is 198/123. Should i go to the ER OR WHAT SHOULD I DO

Hi
Thanks for posting you query on HCM
I have read your query with much concern.
The presentation you just described could be cause by 2 different medical conditions. The first is a digestive infection given abdominal pain/bloody stool. In this case, you will need a stool culture to know the exact cause. The second and more serous condition is malignant hypertension given your BP value. The abdominal crampy movement and other symptoms could be as a result of abdominal viscera suffering from the BP value.A colon cancer given that you have a family history will not give you this presentation, however, you will need to do constant checks.I will advise you go to the ER immediately and have your condition well taken care of.You will need IV anti-hypertensive so that your BP can be stabilized in a very short time. After that, other work-up including work-ups for digestive infections can be carried out.
Hope my answer will help you
Wish you a speedy recovery
