Suggest Treatment For Seborrheic Dermatitis On The Scalp
I have a problem with the itching on my face and middle ear. It was diagnosed as seborrhea dermatitis and received a treatment with Mometasone 0.1% cream and Ketoconazol ointment. I have been using these ointments for the last2 years and still no relief. Could you please comment on this situation. Thanks.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like yeast called malassezia that is in the oil secretion on the skin , inflammatory response related to psoriasis or in particular season. I would suggest you to use over-the-counter anti-dandruff products, such as shampoo with pyrithione zinc or antifungal ketoconazole , do no scratch your skin and apply corticosteroid cream . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe shampoos or ointments containing hydrocortisone, fluocinolone , oral antifungal like terbinafine or antibacterial like metronidazole .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
