been having sciatica problems.severe pain from the back of my right buttox to the front. goes in to the crease of leg down the thigh to my calf. the muscles of my shin are so sore that it hurts to walk. i cannot sit, stand or lie down without excruciating pain. taking advil but now thats not working. neither is tylenol. what can i do to lessen the pain
Hi. Thanks for your query. The commonest problem with the patients of sciatica is not undergoing the proper protocol of sciatica treatment.
I would advise you the following: First of all get an MRI of the lower spine, get a confirmatory diagnosis. The the discs are pressing too much that the medical management may not help or if it fails the ultimate answer is Surgical removal of the discs.
Medical management is in the form of analgesics , Painkillers like Tramadol can help. You need a Physiotherapy under the guidance of a Physiotherapist. Strict bed rest and other medications as may be advised by the Orthopedic Surgeon or a Neuro-Surgeon
