My doctor diagnosed my rash as scabies. I have treated myself with the prescription for scabies - this is going on three weeks now and my rash had tripled after my first treatment and now my rash is covering my body - it is like sandpaper, some areas I have irritated badly from the intense itching. Should I go back to my doctor as she seemed to think the one treatment would do and I could go back tto work - I work in the hospital.
Scabies is known to spread among contacts and can re-infect. This may be the reason you still have symptoms even after treatment. So it is important that everyone in your needs to be treated irrespective of symptoms. Also disinfect clothes and bedding. Have a follow up with your doctor.
