Suggest Treatment For Scabies In A Child

My four month old was diagnosed with scabies. He had lots of little red bumps but didn t seem to be super itchy. The skin scraping was negative for mites. We treated with the prescription cream four days ago. Now he will get a red bump that will disappear within a few hours. I m wondering if that is normal for scabies or if we have a misdiagnosis.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read the history and understood that your only 4 months old has been really misdiagnosed as scabies, as this is very rare in such a small child unless the mother has it.
Secondly the lesions are vanishing within a few hours and this indicates an urticaria or may be some insect bits.
Thirdly, the children have not much developed the immunity till the age of 3 year (36 months).
Please consult a Dermatologist. Get a correct diagnosis.
Stop using any skin lotions/soaps and such preparations that can cause such problems.
Keen observation and then the avoidance of such things can be curative.
