Suggest Treatment For Runny Nose And Cough In A Child
My baby is having runny nose and cough since Sunday Sept. 25 but doesnt have fever and no diarrhea. He is a 3mon old baby boy and 6.4 kg and is formula fed. we went to our Pedia on Wednesday Sept. 28, she prescribed ambroxol drops 0.6 ml to be taken 3x daily for seven days and cefixime drops 1.2 ml to be taken twice daily for seven days also. It seems like the drops arent working for my baby, his cough and runny nose seem to get worst a bit and he also feed less.. Is the meds given are safe for my baby? And what is the best thing to do for his cough and runny nose to vanished completely.. Pls answer my question, I am really worried for my baby. Thank you in advance..

As per your query your child has symptoms of runny nose and cough which is due to inflammation and blockage of sinuses leading to upper respiratory tract infection.Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once . You should get culture of sinuses done and sensitivity from sinus fluids can help in correct diagnosis. You should get X-ray chest done along with allergy test to find out exact cause and start treatment. Meds given are safe and correct for your child. You should complete course of treatment.
