Suggest Treatment For Rough Deformed Finger Nail

I have a finger nail mal formation at the quick that is rough so I guess that I must coat it with clear nail varnish till it grows out. This is the second though lesser one that has just grown out. Can you tell me how to prevent another one? Your answer would be appreciated. Stan Edgcombe YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

I can understand your concern for fungus on nail causing further infection. After analyzing the query I can make out that your nails are quite affected by the fungal infection and now are spreading too.

In my patients with your kind of condition I prefer an oral antifungal such as terbinafine daily for 3 months of period. In such a kind of situation it is quite impossible for a lotion alone to cure the condition.

I use amorolfine lotion or cream to take care of condition.

Do nto go for any surgery as it is not at all the solution for the treatment of the toe nail infection so do not at all think of the surgery.

Discuss regarding these with your dermatologist.

Take care.
