Suggest Treatment For Ringworm Infection On The Upper Thighs

Hello. I believe I have ringworm. It s on my upper thigh area. I haven t been to a doctor yet. But I have tried a few home remedies. One of which helped but it has come back. I have flare ups every couple months. And I don t wear tight fitting clothing and I clean the area very well. Why am I still getting it? What do I need to take to get rid of it?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to Health Care Magic Team.

Understanding your concern.

Reoccurring symptoms of infection on your upper thigh as per you query Could be contact dermatitis , allergic reaction ,eczema ,ring worm infection and because of excessive secretion of sweating in that area .

Personal hygiene is very important in this case which you are already doing good . I would suggest you to apply ice pack on it to relive the tenderness at least twice daily , aloe vera cream ,Chamomile tea wash and cream containing vitamin E.You can also use anti microbial powder on upper thigh area to prevent itching .

Do not touch it with your hands as it can make them worse and it can also spread the infection to other pasts of body, wear loose cloths preferable of cotton fabric .Keep your cloths separate from cloths of other members of the family .

If the condition persists for more then a week or reoccur then consult dermatologist .Your doctor can prescribe you some oral anti allergic , anti bacterial or anti fungal medicines depending upon the diagnosis.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
