Suggest Treatment For Rheumatoid Arthritis While On Arava

I have been taking Arava for Rheumatoid arthritis and have hair loss associated with it. My doctor has prscribed Azulfadine to replace it. I took this medicaine 30 years ago for an ulcerative colitis episode. Previously Ighave been on Penicilliam for 10 years and then Methotrexate. Is Asulfadine strong enough to tackle the crippling effects? I am 80 years old and have Rheumatoid since I was 40 years old and have been pain freem but severe hand crippling.

Dear Azulfidine itself not sufficient to take care of RA induced joint damage and chrons disease. So you need to take anti metabolites like methotrexate with folic acid.

Please consult your treating doctor he will advice appropriate drug for your problem.
