Suggest Treatment For Removal Of Polyp In Sinus
hello doc,my grandpa age is 70 years and he is suffering from hypertension. his MRI report says that
1)AGE RELATED DIFFUSE CEREBRAL ATROPHY
2)GRADE 1 SMALL VESSEL ISCHEMIC CHANGES IN LEFT CORONA RADIATA AND BILATERAL CENTRUM SEMIOVALE.
In mri findings
1)T2 FLAIR HYPERINTENSE LESIONS NOTED IN LEFT CORONA RADIATA AND BILATERAL CENTRUM SEMIOVALE
2)POLYP IN LEFT MAXILLARY SINUS
REMAINING ALL ARE NORMAL .....” WHAT IS THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT?”

The polyp in the left maxillary is a common finding on MRI or CT scans of the head. These are usually do not cause any symptoms and do not need treatment. If he is having symptoms like nasal congestion, facial pain or constant nasal drip then he could try treatment with a nasal steroid spray or oral steroids. Unfortunately these polyps can reoccur. If they continue to bother him then a surgical removal maybe necessary.
