Suggest Treatment For Reflux Disease
My wife has veinous reflux disease and was given an ultrasound today, She was told she has a blood clot in the small saphenous vein in her leg, behind her knee. The physician s assistant told her to take ibuprophen every six hours and use a heating pad on it twice a day. Is this enough or should I take her to the ER?

If I were her treating Doctor for this case of venous thrombus / blood clotting, I would come up with four important facts in this case; these include:
1. you have to take advice / instructions only from a doctor and clear it before leaving the clinic
2. the cause of venous blood clot must be investigated like OCP, Blood clotting factors, very high platelet count or immobilization
3. this disease is usually recurrent; therefore treating the cause is essential!
4. she needs sort of physiotherapy and aspirin medicine; please see a hematologist for better management....
Overall, you have to go for USG WITH DOPPLER STUDY and some blood tests to identify the cause before consulting a surgeon or hematologist in your area!
