Suggest Treatment For Redness And Swelling On Arm After An Insect Bite

I got bitten by something yesterday on my arm between my hand and my elbow. Today the red swollen gets bigger but the main issue is that there s a red line from the swollen area traveling up and ends at between my armpit and elbow. Can t go see a GP now as Medical Clinic closes at this time and tomorrow so should I wait it out or go to hospital right away to have it checked out?

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain the red line starting from the swelling caused due to insect/bug bite travelling from elbow that ends between elbow to armpit is due to inflammation caused due to allergic reaction only..
The allergic reaction is caused due to the toxic chemical injected by the biting organism sting under the skin of the prey that is the individual being bitten..
Nothing to worry as it will resolve soon..
Take anti allergics like Benadryl or Levocetrizine..
Apply a steroid ointment over the swelling as well as the red line..
Do cool compresses..
You can also apply calamine lotion to sooth the skin..

If not resolve or aggravates consult an Emergency room..
