Suggest Treatment For Reddish Blotches On Back Of Mouth

I have noticed a reddish purple blotches that are on both sides of one of the arches in the back of my mouth. I have a little burning sensations but swallowing is mostly normal. I have quit chewing for about 6 months now and just had a dental checkup and was negative fir I ran cancer. But don t know how long these blotches gave been there. They are not spots but run from the bottom towards the top.

Thanks for your query and an elucidate history about the red blotches running from above to down.
It is good to know that you have been tested negative for cancer.
These blotches are called granular pharyngitis.
These are the sequel of pharyngitis which was ill-treated.

I would advise you the following:
- Get throat swab to be tested and the routine tests of blood and urine .
- CT scan of the Para nasal sinuses to see for an occult focus of infection.
X-ray of the chest for the same reasons.
If you take a proper treatment under the care of an ENT surgeon you will get alright.
It will comprise of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antihistamine.
Take a course of 3 weeks, may get cured.
