Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Earlier this year I developed a red rash on the inside of both of my ankles. The end of April the rash on my right ankle developed blisters and started leaking. I have put hydrocortisone on the itchy area but because of the blisters leaking and having a yellow crust to it, I started putting neosporin on it with a bandaid to protect it. I would also try to let air get at it at times also. Just when I think its clearing up, the blisters start forming again. Now blisters have started on my left ankle. My husband also noticed tonight that I have two more blisters on my back. They are very itchy.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The itchy, blistering rash on inner surface of ankle can be blocked sweat glands, which get infected & inflammed/atopic dermatitis, caused by dry skin & constant contact with shoes or socks. Management is by keeping the skin moist by moisturizer.
Avoiding contact to rub with the skin & needful antibiotics to treat blisters (like Soframycin cream) & oral antibiotics as per need. Consult a skin specialist for expert advise.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
