Suggest Treatment For Recurring Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Groin Area
Hi ive had recurring swollen lymph nodes in my groin for like 5 years now, i get them a lot and this time its nearing the surface of my skin and i can feel it, its protruding and is turning purple and it itches and hurts a lot. Its about the size of a small marble but its kind of squishy. It looks like it will burst thru soon. Is this ok?
Neck lymph nodes in groin area are usually enlarged due to local infection. These nodal swellings usually take time to resolve completely even after clearance of infection. But other serious causes need to be ruled out. Advice 1. Hot fomentation with slight warm water every 6 hours 2. Cefixime 100 mg every 12 hours per oral daily for 7 days 3. Ibuprofen 600 mg per oral after meal if pain occurs 4. Investigation: a. Complete blood count b. Blood hemoglobin percentage c. ESR If after 7 days course of cefixime, your groin swelling does not resolve then get done Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) of swollen lymph node. I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thank
