I have recently had a lip biopsy for Sjögren s syndrome but the show minimal inflammation. I feel tired even after eight hours sleep. I have little energy but need to do things so have to keep going because if I stop will fall asleep. I am also unable to loose any weight event when trying to. Hello,

Recurring sore throat commonly occurs due to bacterial strep throat infection, pharyngitis, sinus issues, deviated nasal septum, spicy medicines, weather changes, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT. Get swab, sputum and Imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort.

You may need a course of antibiotics, antihistamines, decongestants, etc. Gargle with salt water 4-5 times a day. Do steam inhalation twice daily. Stay well hydrated to avoid dehydration. Take ORS, juice, beverages. Take vitamin E rich food or vitamin E capsules to prevent dryness of mouth.

Avoid stress and anxiety, take adequate sleep. Avoid spicy, salty oily food. Take home made boiled food to control weight. Avoid fatty food, carbs and sugar. Do regular walking. You can take multi vitamin, once daily for 10 days. Control weight at all cost.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
