I am on meds for blood pressure but am still having these panic attacks which is a nurse practitioners guess. my heart pounds and I begin to feel slightly off balance, had an ER doc say possibly inner ear problem so I am taking meds for both but am still having these sensations. what do you think, recommend, and or what sort of doc should I be seeing?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Your problem possibly be due to inner ear problem. But some queries needs to be answered such as: how old are you, is there any other medical conditions, Eye sight, Spine related porblems etc. Further BP and associated heart conditions may also cause off balance or it could be TIA or sometimes age related too.

General advise:
1. Take salt restricted diet
2. Observe proper dietary schedule
3. Keep something like Glucose or chocolate always with you
4. Do find safe place as soon as you feel off balance
Next Step:
1. Visit first your physician for medical conditions like BP, Heart or any other
2. Proper ENT examination and audiometry and/or VNG if required
3. Check for eye sight

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Himanshu Dhanak, Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist
