Suggest Treatment For Recurring Mouth Ulcers

Doctor I am suffering from recurring mouth ulcer(canker sores) for past few years. The ulcers begin to heal if I take vitamin-B tablets. And after a month or so, it starts to reappear. If this is a case of vitamin deficiency - particularly B2, is there any tests to confirm the defeciency?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Recurrent ulcers in mouth which respond to vitamin B 12 are called aphthous ulcers.
Disappearance of these ulcers after starting vitamin B 12 is suggestive of vitamin B 12 deficiency.
You can get blood vitamin B12 levels to determine the deficiency and its degree.
Deficiency of vitamin B 12 has to be treated with regular intake of vitamin B 12.
In addition, consult your physician for clinical assessment and complete hemogram.
Vitamin B 12 deficiency can cause anemia also.
In case anemia is present, it has also to be corrected with vitamin B 12 supplements.

Thanks and take care
