Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Yeast Infection

I have had what I thought to be 3 yeast infections in the past 4 months and treated the with otc kits. I have discharge that is sometimes pinkish in color but mostly white and thick and it can be itchy/burn when irritated. I don t have a regular gynecologist.

Hello,

If you do have recurrent yeast infection symptoms even with multiple rounds of over the counter treatment such as monistat.

First, you may want to be seen at urgent care, where you can have vaginal testing done to make sure vaginal yeast infection is the cause of your ongoing symptoms and rule out other vaginitis causes.

If you truly have a yeast infection, then prescription treatment with oral antifungal medication will be the better treatment option since OTC treatment has not been successful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Katie Lee, General & Family Physician
