Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Rashes On The Thighs

My daughter keeps getting bug bites on her left thigh. Same area all the time, nowhere else. And they have happened even when we are out of town. They look like mosquito bites. This has been happening consistently for about 3 months, she always has 2-4 bites in different locations on the same thigh. What could be causing this?

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of recurrent rashes on the thighs which could be due to fungal infection of thighs mainly Tinea, as it localizes on body folds and thigh area.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take oral tablets of Terbinafine for 1 week. You should clean the skin with soap and cold water and apply petroleum jelly. Apply moderately potent topical steroid of triamcinolone acetonide 0.1% cream twice daily at affected sites. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Take tablet of cetirizine 10 mg once daily for symptomatic relief from itching.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
