Suggest Treatment For Rectal Bleeding And Chest Pain

I have a 17yr old daughter who has been having rectal bleeding, nausea, fatigue, and occ chest pain. Phx of asthma and anemia. She has been drinking monster energy drinks, about 2-3 day. I made her cut them out of her diet & sx improved. Today sx returned along with new onset rectal pain and change in bowels. Normal bowels are usually soft, now pebbles. She states that she can not fully eliminate. No change in diet outside of dc of caffiene. Fhx of colon cancer from paternal grandfather, not sure of age. I want to know if i should take her to the ED or make an appt with a GI doc.

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Noted your daughter having rectal bleed and positive family history for colon cancer...

So yes consult her to the general surgeon or gastroentetologist....

First check her anal area and proctoscopy for piles , fissure , rectal ulcer , mass in anus or proctitis like inflammation ...

Second stool should be examined ..if show pus cell then shigellosis can be the cause...
If show eggs of parasites then amebic dysentery like cause can be there...

If above possibilities ruled out then colonoscopy might needs for rule out polyp or any abnormal area and biopsy from that and send for histopatjological examination...

According to cause treatment guided.
Meanwhile drink more water...
Avoid excess spicy food...
Prevent constipation by high fiber diet and fruits ....

Take care.
