Suggest Treatment For Razor Cut In Pubic Area

I accidentaly cut my labia while I was trimming my pubic hair. The cut is about 3 mm. The cut portion is still dangling since it wasn t severed off compeletly. I tried to cut the whole dangling thing but it was somewhat painful. I placed a plaster on the cut since it was bleeding, although it did not hurt that much. What can I do to speed up its healing? Do I have to keep it dry and apply antibacterial cream after taking a pee? Approximately how many days will this heal? Do I have to go to the doctor for this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for being part of our virtual clinic!

1. It is important to keep the area clean & dry, as possible.

2. You can start dabbing on an antibiotic ointment.

3. It would be ideal to refrain from intercourse until the wound heals, as movement of the skin there might re-open the cut.

4. It is unlikely you cut the area so deep that you will need stitches. However, if it continues to bleed after a day, you should have it evaluated
