Suggest Treatment For Rashes On The Ankles While On Pravastatin

I have been prescribed pravastatin 20mg.by my Heart Dr. and been taking it for almost 6months . I developed a red rash above my ankle shortly after taking this med.. The rash started out the size of pin head and now larger than a 50cent piece. It itches most of the time. Tried over the counter meds ,nothing works. Could this rash be a side affect from this drug ? Thank You , Steve Lang

hi,
before calling your rash can be unusual side effect of the medicine, other common causative agents for that rash should be rule out.
you are taking the medicine since six month and if no other new similar rashes are developed anywhere since than, there is less chances of having the side effect.
rash should be properly examined for infective or non infective etiology.
I find this answer helpful
