Suggest Treatment For Rapid Heart Rate And Fatigue After Running

I am a 52 year old male, reasonably fit. I have done the half marathon two years running. In the month of December on a very cold day after running for 1 hour I started getting chest pain which went off once I stopped. Since then I feel fatigued and I also feel that my heart beat is fast at times, or I have become aware of it.

By back ground is that I am asthmatic, for over 15 years. I also have Hypertension controlled by medication. I also have Hypothyroid controlled by medication. After the pain I went to a Cardiologist who got a CT Angio done on a 256 machine. The arteries appear clear with little or no blocking. However my Blood Cholesterol was high at over 300. I am now on Rosuvas 20. The cardiologist told me to get back running, but after running even 20 minutes I feel exhausted with racing heart beat and an ominous feeling even for days.

Due to advancing age and medical issues, your body is not able to keep up with intense activity levels. You must be cautious as you are a BP patient. Avoid exercising in very hot or cold weather. Rest well and make sure you are not emotionally stressed or haven't underslept before exercise which can increase stress. Start with a warm up before exercise and cool down after exercise. Briskwalk instead of running as your body is not responding well to high intensity exercise. Walk as much as you can comfortably do without any discomfort, chest pain or rapid heart beat. Sleep well at night for complete rejuvenation. Practice deep breathing to slow down raised pulse or heart beat. Hope this will help.
