Suggest Treatment For Pus Filled Bump On The Gum

Hi I have a small pus filled lump located on my gums next to a lower molar. It is sensitive when I brush but not painful. It has been there for two weeks. I have put gentle pressure around it twice using Q-tips to pop it but it keeps refilling with pus and blood. I have been rinsing with chlorhexidene and peroxide but it won t go away. The tooth it is next to has had a root canal in it for at least 12 years. Any advice?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a lump over the gum below a lower molar that is sensitive to touch and discharges pus and blood seems to be most probably due either an infected tooth that is leading to pus accumulation below the root tips of the tooth leading to formation of a pus filled lump under the tooth causing dental abscess formation..
Secondly in case if you do not have an infected tooth then it can be due to gum boil or gum abscess due to infection in gums caused by food impaction or toothbrush injury leading to deeper penetration of bacteria in gums causing formation of an abscess..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of gum infection deep scaling and gum paint application can help..
In case of tooth decay root canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers will relieve..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
