As your doctors correctly said there is no definitive and complete treatment for chronic prostatitis. However, many drugs have been proven useful relieving symptoms and improving quality of life. These include alpha blockers, anti inflammatory drugs, antibiotics, tricyclic-anti depressants, physical therapy, trans-urethral microwave thermotherapy etc. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and alpha-adrenergic blockers are usually used to control symptoms. You can discuss about these options with your doctor.
Hope this helps! Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wish you good health.
