Hi,
It is difficult to detect pregnancy through HPT before onset of the menstrual period. You need to wait for 3-7 days after a missed period to perform the test. The earliest way of detection is the blood test for pregnancy, which can be done as early as day 21 in a 28-day cycle; or one week after ovulation. If negative, your symptoms could mean an ensuing period. You may also repeat the blood test after 2-3 days if still in doubt. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
