Hi Dr Habeeb. If you have post thrombotic syndrome and your DVT is more than two weeks old then Thrombolysis will not be useful. It is done in acute phase to decrease chances of Post thrombotic syndrome later in cases of iliofemoral DVT. You will need to wear Compression stockings class II and I also usually advice my patients Tab Daflon for three months. If you develop an ulcer or increased sweĺling you can get a Venography done to see whether any Endovascular treatment can be offered. Take care. Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
