Suggest Treatment For Post Nasal Drip.

I take an allergy pill and spray my nose every day but by the end of the day my voice starts to go. I m pretty sure its a nasal drip because I m always bringing up mucous. I have heard that mucinex is good for my problem. What kind of mucinex and how much should I take. I m 71 years old.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Mucinex is a mucolytic which means that it breaks up the mucus so that it can be easier to expel.

There are different formulations but the plain muinex would be the one for you to use.
It is normally taken as 1 to 2 tabs every 12 hours.

One of the most common cause of post nasal drip is an allergy. This could be to food, drink, pollen, animal dander, environmental allergen.

If you can determine what is causing your reaction and reduce your exposure to it then this would help to reduce your post nasal drip.

I hope this helps
