Suggest Treatment For Post Nasal Drip And Throat Congestion
I have had a post nasal drip in my left nostril for more than a year now and the phlegm in my throat collects from this drip only on the left side of the back of my throat and makes my voice hoarse and my throat burn. My left ear is also chronically itchy. I cannot get this phlegm out of my throat. I use an allergy spray Fluctisaid? and take Mucinex when the congestion in my throat gets unbearable. Please help
I share your concerns. You need to under go detailed examination and laboratory investigation to come to a diagnosis. Most probable diagnosis in your case would be deviated nasal bone. Which can be identified by simple examination by torch light. It will require a surgery and you will require one week rest, you will be fine for long.
Another possible diagnosis is enlarged adenoid gland in your nasopharynx (upper most part of throat and nose). It will again require a surgery with less than a week rest.
Your problem of ear will be resolved once this primary problem is cured. Spray and mucinex you are using will give relief from symptoms but not cure the disease. Take them as emergency measure.
I hope my reply will help you. Please write to hcm for follow up queries. Hit a thanks. I wish you good health. Thank you
