HI,
I understand your concern.
PCOD is mostly associated with insulin resistance/ overweight.. which interfere with ovulation. The management can be-
- Cyclical hormonal treatment along with physical exercises/ diet control/ Gluciphage .. to contreol the insulin resistance/ weight. Many times the condition subcides within a year, .. specially treied in young , unmarried gorls.
- Ovulation induction by medicines like clomephene help by maturity of collocted ovums in ovary- thus lessening stretch of the ovary.. offering relief in the condition.
Some times ovulation needs to be induced ( by injection of chorionic gonadotrophin ) as per doctor's advise.
- Drilling of ovaries by laproscopy is the ultimate major to treat non responsive patients.
Thanks.
