OBGYN 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome and thanks for letting us know your health concern. The management depends on factors like your age, menstrual pattern, need for conception, associated hormone errors, other clinical features like obesity, abnormal hair growth, insulin resistance etc.

A complete evaluation by a specialist comprising of a clinical exam, blood counts, urinalysis, serum DHEAS levels, AMH levels, complete hormone assay including LH, FSH, Prolactin, estrogen and progesterone, tests for insulin resistance and blood glucose. Further management is planned accordingly.

The irregular menstrual pattern can be handled through weight management, hormone supplements while insulin resistance is treated with metformin. Induction of ovulation is done if infertility is the problem, after couple evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shanti Vennam,
